What was touted as a fight to the death turned out to be a one-sided display of Table Tennis magic, as Tony the "Terminator" (the reigning Kiwi champion) *wallabied* his (slightly inebriated) Australian opponent, Amir the "Sheesh Kebab" in straight sets in the *official* Trans-Tasman Altis Table Tennis Championship.
The only satisfaction Amir received (besides a pair of Binoculars as his farewell NZ gift) was a sporting third game, which he used to salvage some honour with a very narrow loss (if it wasn't Kiwi chivalry).
A large crowd of seven rowdy spectators then hoisted the contestants to a nearby Mexican Cafe where celebrations continued.
