Data Warehousing

The Data Warehouse provides the foundation for the Business Intelligence by providing the appropriate data in accessible and understandable form. The animation below represents a typical Data Warehouse Logical Architecture and highlights key elements of the architecture.

The two most important activities in the development of Data Warehouse are the design of a sound data model and development of effective ETL processes.

The data model translates business concepts into a logical format that is efficient and maintainable. All Altis consultants are formally trained in dimensional modeling an our approach includes milestone reviews where solutions are critiqued by fellow team members.

In addition, the Altis team are trained in multiple ETL tools and leverage their internal knowledge-base for support. The three typical engagements that we participate in are:

  • Data Warehouse implementation
  • Data Mart development
  • Health Checks
